Cruse Bereavement Care in West Berkshire
We provide bereavement support for anyone who has been bereaved, regardless of age, gender or faith, whatever the cause of death or time since bereavement
We were established in 1987, and cover the unitary authority area of West Berkshire. We offer:
- One-to-one support to bereaved people in their home or elsewhere.
- A telephone helpline.
- Bereavement groups
- Bereavement counselling for children and young people
- Leaflets on bereavement and information on other agencies
Our Bereavement Support Volunteers are
- Trained according to the Cruse UK Standard Training Course.
- Supervised by trained supervisors to the Cruse UK Standards.
- All volunteers have CRB clearance.
All our bereavement support volunteers and our administrative helpers are volunteers and claim expenses only.
Funding is obtained from
- Small grants from local authorities
- Training grants
- Donations
- Branch fundraising
